Anthony Iasso D1 iasso@sprynet.com 3/30/99 This is to test the date. Mike Zizza H4 zizza_michael@bah.com 3/31/99 Anthony, What's up? The new web page is great! Been back to Germany lately to pick up girls from NY? I took the early out along with some other guys in my battalion at FT Hood. Here's some quick news: Bill Taylor got married this past weekend. Me, Mike Volpe, and Mark Yurko attended. Bill and Tracy live in Texas--FT Hood. Mike Pete Hart G4 p_ehart@sprynet.com 5/2/99 I just found the class website. Glean from the following message what you wish to report. I am married to Erin since 1 Jul 95. We went to Ft Bragg, where I was kept busy with deployments to Panama, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Kuwait. I am now actually at the Armor Advanced course, even though I am Infantry. So far I know that John Hwang is in my course. He is married and has three children, the youngest is 3 mos old. Jimmy Kimbrough married Jennifer last November(?) down in Savannah. Phil Cowley is in 3rd Ranger Battalion. Jimmy Tuite (G4) married his high school sweetheart and has a young daughter. He is in 1st Ranger Battalion with Mike Harper. Andy Rieger also married his high school sweetheart and has a daughter. He is at Ft Bragg. Joe Dunlop is flying Apaches and just deployed to Kosovo. Hans Kurth was involuntarily extended in 2/505 PIR at Ft Bragg and deployed to Kosovo to guard the Apaches. Alex McCalman, also an infantryman, was selected for SF, and is here at the Armor Advance Course, in the class before me. There, a lot of news. Hope you can use some of it. Eric Meyer E2 emeyer6@visteon.com 5/3/99 Since I've been off e-mail, I'll have to start awhile back. While in Germany with 2nd BDE, 1AD, met & married Elke, who was a med student at the University of Heidelberg. I got out in June 98, and started working for Ford in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Been here ever since, doing the National Guard thing (don't do it -- it's painful), and hoping we don't get activated for Bosnia/Kosovo. She's in the process of transferring into med school at the University of Michigan, so things look bright. Saw Larry Marion back here -- he's going to U-M for his masters full-time, and scamming on all the other grad students. Justin Keppy also works here, in the same plant. No kids for us right now, although I just talked to Bart Martin & his wife Kristi, who are having TWINS! What the fertile guy! =) Well, that's all for now. All of you over in USAREUR / Balkans -- take care, and be safe. Mike T. Williams I3 williamsmt@benning.army.mil 5/3/99 I am here at Fort Benning with wife Amy. After tank and mortar platoon leader time in 3ID, moved to and took command of the Headquarters Detachment, US Army Marksmanship Unit on 29 Jan. Greatest job in the army! Victor Won E1 wons@huachuca-emh1.army.mil 5/14/99 Howdy folks. Anthony didn't know this last time he posted the message, but I'm also here in Ft. Huachuca. I'm working as the Operations Officer for USAG G-3. Basically I am the tasking officer sending everyone to Bosnia, Kosovo and everywhere else. I'm enjoying the Arizona's beautiful weather after serving three consecutive years in Korea with my wife, Hannah (we got married in Korea in 1998). Hope everyone is well and I also wanted to comment that this is an awsome website for us to keep in touch. Thanks Anthony for your great work. Adam Wallen C3 adamd@earthling.net 5/19/99 I cross-commissioned into the USAF upon graduation. I spent my first assignment doing one-on-one engagement modeling in an intelligence squadron. That was at Offutt AFB in Omaha, Nebraska. The next assignment was to Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton, Ohio, where I attended the AF Institute of Technology and got my masters in Operations Research. Now, I'm doing manpower analysis for flying squadrons at Langley AFB in Hampton, VA. My big news is that I'm getting married to Olivia Kramer on August 22nd in Colorado Springs (NOT at USAFA). I've been in touch with Yuttana Meecharoen (C-3), and he finished his masters at Georgia Tech and is now teaching at the Thai military academy. Scott (C-3) and Sara Nauman are pregnant with their first. Shad Reed (another USAF cross-commissionee) and his wife Sandy recently PCSed to Robbins AFB, GA. It's great getting updates on folks! Thanks to our classmates who are taking time to maintain these pages for us. Kevin Virgil D1 kayvee11@mindspring.com 5/30/99 What's up Tony? Wow, can't believe you're married AND a dad!! Another one bites the dust. Seriously, congrats -- that's great. Haven't talked to you since graduation. Anyway, wanted to keep you up to date on stuff. I'm currently in the 2nd Ranger Battalion out at Ft Lewis (yeah, I know, who would've thought??). I'm about to extend for a year in order to be the BN S-5. Also with me are Jay Bartholomees, Bill Linn, and Derek Thomsen (all three are leaving shortly for IOAC at Benning). The job is going great, even if the haircut looks stupid, but I'm still having a great time. How's Ft Huachuca? Tell Ryan I said hello next time you see him. Take care man -- see you later. Mike Jason D4 jasons@lvnworth.com 6/7/99 Tony, please tell our classmates to drop me a line in the next two weeks. My deadline is about 31 July for the next issue. Also, my address until I get to Germany is 13 Blue Mountain Ct. Oak Ridge, TN 37830 (423)423-483-3051. My number here at CASSS is (913)651-9522 ex 1443. He came back from an 11 month tour in Bosnia on August 4, and was married on August 28. I was lucky enough to be one of the groomsman, and Walt Roberson, D4, was a saber bearer. I wish I had pictures to send, but I have yet to join the present and buy a digital camera. Well, I'll send you more news when I get the opportunity. Is your phone number still (520) 452-9736? Talk to you soon. Clay Ethan Vessels B2 evessels@theriver.com 12/1/99 At the risk of sounding like a loser--if one were to take this position, is there any stipend or suxh to cover the travel and accomodations? John Giordano D3 giorules@aol.com 12/30/99 Anthony, Great work with the web page! It looks like it takes a good deal of effort. Congrats on your recent addition to the family. I wanted to drop a line to update our classmates of my whereabouts. After a short tour in Korea as an MP platoon leader, and an even shorter tour at Ft Lee, VA (due to inactivation), I have been at Ft Story, VA for the past 26 months living a block and a half from the beach! My first two years here were as an S2 in a transportation battalion. I deferred my MPCCC in September in order to take command of a transportation AIT company here. While at Story, I started and completed a masters degree in public administration. I married the former Doreen O'Connell of Brooklyn in October '97. Our reception was at Ft Hamilton in Brooklyn in Jan '98 (attendees included Rod O'Connor & Rob Krotee). We have a two year old daughter, Caroline, and are currently considering a branch transfer or getting out. Best of luck to you, your family and the rest of our classmates! Anybody in the vicinity of Virginia Beach, feel free to stop by and visit. I hope to remain in command until Dec 2000. Bill Taylor B4 billt95@hotmail.com 1/10/100 This is the first time I have logged onto our class website and I am amazed. I had no idea that so many people were writing in and so much information was available. I must say I am really impressed. Well, I am currently in Camp Montieth in the town of Gjilane in Kosovo. After the advanced course and CAS 3 last summer and fall I was assigned to 3 BDE 1 ID in Vilseck, Germany. I spent a grand total of 8 days in Vilseck before I was shipped of to Kosovo. I am now working as the S-3 plans officer for 2-2 IN BN. Which is kind of different because I am an armor officer. But it is all working out pretty well. Just enjoying the buetiful war torn scenery in the country side and the lovely freezing weather and snow. I have not run into any other 95ers out here but I will keep a look out. As you already reported I was married last March 27. Tracy and I were married at the Old Cadet Chapel and had the reception at the Alumni Center. It was one hell of a party. Right before I left for Germany we found out that my wife is pregnant and is due sometime in June of 2000, So we are pretty excited. She is currently living in the states with my parents until the deployment is over. I recently attended Mark Thompson's weeding(dont remember his company). He was married on Novemeber 28 to CPT Michelle Dade. She is an MP Captain, but is not a pointer. They were married in the Original chapel of the Jamestown Settlement in Virginia. I was the only classmate in attendance. I hope this message wasnt to long but I had alot to catch up on for my first message. Will keep in touch. Benjamin L. Shih E4 rshih@stanford.edu 12/29/100 Anthony: Thanks a million for maintaining this website and allowing us to keep in touch with each other. Some news to report... I'm in law school now and have been out of the Army since April. Spent my last tour as the most under-employed CPT at the U.S. Disciplinary Barracks - no, contrary to popular belief, I was NOT an inmate. Spent the summer traveling Asia with a lovely flight attendant, Serena, whom I met in Taiwan earlier. She does the Taipei-San Francisco/Seattle/LA route now and then so we see each other once or twice a month. Just as well since I need to spend more time studying anyway... An Bui is out of Army as well and is working for Hewlett-Packard here in Cupertino. An is engaged to be married to Walen on April 28, 2001. Double income (she's a pharmicist) and no kids - what a life! Joe Mehrten is out of the Army as well and is now working for Applied Materials in Santa Clara. Joe's married to Rainna for over a year now and they have a lovely little girl. He spends most of his time these days working on his new (old) house that they bought in San Jose. I last saw Ben Hwang at Leavenworth while he was doing CAS3. Ben is staying in and went SF. Last I heard he was finishing up the Q-Course at Bragg and was looking to get sent to either Lewis or Okinawa. Oh yeah, Ben secretly got married to Kyle. No kids, though. A couple of other classmates are floating around in the valley I'm sure - heard a rumor that Scoot Cornelius is out here working for Applied Materials as well. As soon as I hear of anyone else, I'll let you know. Please tell all the classmates who are in this area to send me an email. Would like to get everyone together every now and then. I am the Program Manager for New Business Ventures and Scott is PM for CWAN products. Life in the valley's great! Michael Friters H1 MikeFriters@aol.com 2/22/101 Anthony, Long time, no chat my friend. I happened to discover that you're the web guy for '95. Imagine that. I'd love to know how things are going for you in AZ. That's a great place. I spent three years at Ft. Bliss and made it over to Phoenix and the Grand Canyon a few times. It's beautiful country. As for me, while I definitely did not appreciate my time at the Hudson Institute of Technology while I was there, all that grief finally pays off in the form of great experiences, lifelong friends, and handsome paychecks. I'm working for an IT consulting firm called the Meta Group in Stamford, CT. That's not all that far from your old stomping grounds in Jersey. I'm the Director of Sales Operations and the Quality Leader there. I also work with a few '89 grads by the names of Rob Toole and John DeBlazio. That made coming to work for Meta even more exciting. I'm still single, but actively taking applicants for the a permanent dating position. My brother is living with me. He's 19 and just received his nominations for West Point and Air Force. I'm thinking that he has a very good shot at making it. I have one question for you: I noticed that my name is not included on the rolls of grads tracked by AOG. How can I go about being included on the website and in AOG's records? I'd greatly appreciate any info on this. I hope all is well with you and I look forward to hearing from you. Michael Lance Lauchengco D4 lance3110@aol.com 4/7/101 On March 20, we celebrated Founder's Day at Camp Bondsteel in southern Yugoslavia (Kosovo). Mike Jason (D4), Grover Harms, Albert Wang, and Lance Lauchengco (D4) attended the dinner. The Comm was the guest speaker, and he had a nice speech about the state of the Academy. Tanya Markow (Tolles) A1 MarkowT@rucker.army.mil 6/21/101 My husband, Pete, and I had our daughter, Morgan, 15 AUG 2000. 10 months later, she's walking, talking and can't be stopped!
