1893 -- Army failed to convert after its only score.  Navy 6, Army 4.

 

 

1899 -- In the first meeting since 1893, Army installed two new plays to surprise the favored Midshipmen.  This was the first Army-Navy Game played at Philadelphia's legendary Franklin Field.  Army 17, Navy 5.

 

1905 -- The first tie in the history of the series.  Played at Princeton, the start of the game was delayed by a massive traffic jam -- both teams were late.  The game was stopped because of darkness with four minutes and 35 seconds remaining in the second half.  Army 6, Navy 6.

1939 -- Navy shut out the Cadets in a rain-soaked game.  Navy 10, Army 0.

1944 -- More than 70,000 fans jammed Baltimore's Memorial Stadium as part of a War Bond drive that raised $58.6 million from this game alone. Army put the finishing touch on a close game when Glenn Davis sprinted 50 yards on a "California Special," especially designed for this game. It consisted of a sweep to the right, punctuated by crunching blocks from Barney Poole and Max Minor.  The win completed the first of three consecutive undefeated national championship seasons for Army.  Army 23, Navy 7.

1950 -- Army entered the game as 21 point favorites, but new Navy coach Eddie Erdelatz (the first non-Naval Academy graduate to be the head coach at Navy) and QB "Zug" Zastrow led the Mids to an upset.  Army failed to score in seven trips inside Navy's 20 yard line in the second half.  Navy 14, Army 2.

1961 -- Navy won its thrid straight in the series behind backup QB Bob Hecht.  Army led 7-3 early in the second half, but didn't score again.  Navy 13, Army 7.

1967 -- Navy jumped out to a 19-0 lead and Army did not get past midfield in the first half.  A late comeback attempt ended when Army's Charlie Jarvis fumbled on Navy's 22 yard line.  Navy 19, Army 14.

1972 -- Army fell behind 12-0 in the first quarter, but an 84 yard TD return of a blocked Navy FG attempt put the Cadets ahead for good in the third quarter.  Army 23, Navy 15.

1978 --  Navy jumped to a 14-0 first quarer lead and never looked back.  Navy 28, Army 0.  Navy went to the Holiday Bowl and defeated BYU. 

 

1995 -- Words hardly do this game justice.  After Navy chose to go for a TD and failed on 4th and goal, Army took over on its own 1 yard line, trailing 13-7 with 8:23 left in the game.   The 19 play, 99 yard TD drive was highlighted by a 28 yard pass from Army QB Ronnie McAda to SE John Graves on 4th and 24.  FB John Conroy scored two plays later and K J. Parker kicked the PAT to win the game.  This is hte season John Feinstein wrote about in his book A Civil War.  Army 14, Navy 13.
