1890 -- Navy's Red Emrich scored four touchdowns (worth four points each) and kicked two field goals (worth two points each) and Moulton Johnson accounted for the other touchdown as Navy shut out an inexperienced Army team in the first-ever meeting between the academies. Navy 24, Army 0.

1902 -- Army QB Charles Daly led the Cadets to victory, scoring a TD and a FG.  Army 22, Navy 8.

1913 -- playing for the first time at the Polo Grounds (in front of 40,000 fans, including President Woodrow Wilson and his cabinet), Army triumphed 22-9.

1919 -- Earl "Red" Blaik, a transfer from Miami of Ohio, played in his first Army-Navy game. (The bad guys won, 6-0.) Blaik was the coach who led the Army team to three consecutive MNCs and coached all three Heisman winners at Army.

1924 -- in front of 80,000 fans at Baltimore's Municipal Stadium, Army's Edgar Garbisch kicked three field goals over the final three quarters to account for all the game's scoring. Army 12, Navy 0.

1941 -- in Red Blaik's first Army-Navy game as head coach, Coach Blaik elected to kick off rather than receive after Navy took an early second half lead, 7-6. The bad guys drove down field for the final score. Navy 14, Army 6.

1947 -- Army's Rip Rowan scored on a 92 yard run, and Army controlled the game from start to finish. Army 21, Navy 0.

1952 -- Army's defense stopped the Mids O four times inside the 10 yard line. Unfortunately, the Mids D held the Army O to only 102 yards. Navy 7, Army 0.

1958 -- Red Blaik's final season as head coach, Army used the Lonely End formation to beat Navy's double wing-T offense (unveiled for the first time in the Army-Navy game) by a score of 22-6. The game featured 1958 Heisman winner Pete Dawkins of Army and 1960 Heisman winner Joe Bellino of Navy. Army finished 8-0-1, ranked 3rd in the AP poll.

1969 -- Army's Lynn Moore rushed for 206 yards, leading the team to a 27-0 win. In the first quarter, the Army D held the Mids four times from the Army 1 yard line.

1975 -- Army QB Leamon Hall prevented a shutout with a one yard TD run. Navy 30, Army 6.

 

 

1980 -- the game was played in Veteran's Stadium for the first time. Army had only 144 yards of total offense and lost 33-6.
