LTC Hutchison died after a brief illness at the Westchester Medical Center.

LTC Hutchison had a broad range of responsibilities in her career to include:
Platoon leader, 142D Signal Battalion, Fort Hood, Texas and 2D Aviation Brigade Signal Officer in Desert Storm
Command of the US Army Signal School Detachment, Lowry Air Force Base, Denver, Colorado and the US Army Signal School Detachment Fort Meade, Maryland
Executive Officer, US Army Element at Lowry AFB, Colorado and 129th Signal Battalion, 29th Infantry Division, Maryland Army National Guard, Bel Air, Maryland
Deputy Director of Training for Visual Information, Defense Information School, Fort Meade, Maryland
Joint Tactical Radio System Information Assurance project manager, NSA
Strategic Programmer for the United States Forces Korea
Commander, Information System Center, Defense Information System Agency, Washington, D.C.
Battalion Command of the 551 Signal Battalion Fort Gordon, GA.
2nd Regimental Tactical Officer for the Corps of Cadets at the United States Military Academy, West Point, NY.

Her education included:

Bachelor of Science Degree with a concentration in Education Psychology from the United States Military Academy
Masters of Science Degree in Management Information Systems from the University of Maryland in 1999.
Certificate in Information Assurance (2006) and Chief Information Officer (2007) from the National Defense University's Information Resource Management College.
Command and General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas
Recently selected to attend the Senior Service College.

She was awarded the Bronze Star Medal; Defense Meritorious Service Medal with 3 oak leaf clusters, Meritorious Service Medal with 3 oak leaf clusters, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal with 2 oak leaf clusters, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal, the National Defense Service Medal w/bronze star, Southwest Asia Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Kuwait Liberation Medal. She has received the Office of the Secretary of Defense Identification Badge and the Parachutist Badge.

In a message to the West Point community BG Michael S. Linnington, Commandant of Cadets, stated, in part:

"Jeanne was a superb member of the United States Military Academy team, and an integral part of the United States Corps of Cadets. She was an exemplary role model, coach, teacher and mentor to her more than 1,100 cadets as well as an OR to the Swim Team and an active member of the Community and the Jewish Chapel. "

She is survived by her husband, LTC(R) Robert Hutchison, a daughter and a son.
