If you've never been to a place that observes Carnival or Fasching, then you haven't lived. In Stuttgart and other parts of Germany, they sort of combine the two.
Here are some pics from events around Suttgart in FEB 97:
On the Tuesday before Ashe Wednesday, all the final parades are held throughout Germany. These demons are from more of the Fasching side of the celebration in Stuttgart.
Here is a band from one of the local societies in the Stuttgart parade. These guys follow the Carneval traditions of the festivities.
