The Department of Defense announced today
the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Col. Jon M. Lockey, 44, of Fredericksburg, Va., died July 6 in
Baghdad, Iraq, of injuries sustained from a non-combat related
incident.
The incident is under investigation.
He leaves behind his wife of 20 years,
his two sons, his mother, father, and sister.
INTERMENT: Arlington National Cemetery.
The Service will take place at the Ft Myer Chapel at 11:00 am
on 1 August. Everyone is encouraged to attend if you are available.
Jon will be laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery immediately
following the Service.
Jon's wife says that the entire military
community has shown overwhelming support to her and the family
since they were notified of this tragedy on 6 July.
