2002 ABIC/SWDC Region 9 Championships Oct 17-20 Houston TX

We came, we rode, we survived! Golden Bandit (my 10 YO TB Gelding) and I competed in the USDF Region 9 Championships and SWDC Finals in the Intermediare I, the Intermediare I Kur, and the Prix St George's dressage tests. After 4 days and 6 classes, I think he deserved his "roll in the mud".

SWDC Prix St Georges test (note the whip). This was Fri afternoon. Not one of our best tests. I think this was during the warmup as I can't recall any canter work which crosses the centerline like this. I like this picture because my position looks halfway decent.

A shot taken from the ABIC Intermediare I ridden early on Sat AM. We won the class with a 58% plus change. Not an exciting score but of all the FEI rides - open and AA - that day, we had the 2nd highest score.

This is our Region 9 Director Kat Kyle - looking a little frazzled, but holding Bandit's quarter sheet.

I twisted Carol Schmickrath's arm to pose with us too.

I know that's Carol in the middle and the gal on the right holding my prize jacket is from the USDF main office, but don't know the names of the 2 ladies holding the loot.

Couldn't resist another shot of Carol and I.

Bandit was helping me decide which pictures I should buy. Or... was he eating the order form? Yes, that's a picture of Bon as well without a top hat on.
