Dorothy remembers:

My mother was always concerned about Frances who had a bad heart and devoted a lot of attention to her. She was never allowed to run and play like I was. She was protected and prevented from overdoing anything. That was always a problem for her from beginning to end, although she raised four children and lived into her 80s.

Charlie remembers:

Mother said she had diabetes.She could not understand why our family did not have the same. I am now being treated for diabetes with medication;not insulin.
