Gary Catlin

2002 Charter Member

Gary M. Catlin is the author of Panamint Software's VIDEO POKER TUTOR which was probably the most popular computer program in the early and mid-1990s for analyzing video poker machines and practicing for casino play.

Bob Dancer

2004 Inductee

Bob Dancer  is a veteran professional video poker player, author, writer, promoter, consultant and teacher. His Winner's Guides, strategy cards and videotapes are the definitive resources on playing video poker correctly.

Bob's book, Million Dollar Video Poker, explains the process by which he started playing video poker in 1994 with a bankroll of $6,000, and seven years later was able to win $1,000,000 during a six-month period.

Lenny Frome

2002 Charter Member

[12 MAY 1926 - 15 MAR 1998]

Lenny Frome was the George Washington of video poker, and its best known advocate and promoter. His many books and hundreds of magazine articles are a major reason that video poker has attained its present day popularity.

Skip Hughes

2006 Inductee

[c1943 - 13 MAR 2010]

Skip Hughes was a professional computer consultant, writer and expert video poker player. Skip's writings are oriented toward the recreational rather than professional player.

He was the founder of the VPMail Video Poker Mailing List which pioneered internet communication among members of the video poker community.

Ernie Moody

2012 Inductee

Mr. Ernest W. Moody, president and owner of VideoPoker.com (formerly Action Gaming) is one of the foremost game designers with his specialty based in video poker. Ernie is recognized as the inventor of MultiPlay (TM) games, where a player can play more than one game of video poker hand simultaneously. The original game launched in 1998, 'Triple Play Poker', has now evolved into over twenty variations including Ten Play, Fifty Play, One Hundred Play, Spin Poker, and Matrix Poker. Each year nearly ten new video poker games based on the Action MultiPlay patents, which number over 50 patents, are debuted at the Global Gaming Expo. There are currently over 16,000 Multi Play video poker games in casinos world-wide making it one of the most successful game designs ever launched. Si Redd

2002 Charter Member

[16 NOV 1911 - 14 OCT 2003]

Si Redd was the patriarch of IGT, the world's largest slot-machine company, and the founder of the Oasis Resort Hotel & Casino in Mesquite. In 1975 he introduced and marketed the game of video poker.

Jean Scott

Jean Scott is the author of the best-selling book 'The Frugal Gambler,' a casino guide for thrifty low rollers, plus a sequel, 'More Frugal Gambling,' and is the co-author of 'Tax Help for the Frugal Gambler'.  She is a popular speaker and writer on gaming subjects, stressing sensible and responsible gambling. Her exploits have been featured on Dateline, Hard Copy, Extra, To Tell the Truth, and 48 Hours, where Dan Rather dubbed her the Queen of Comps. She appears frequently on Travel Channel shows on Vegas and gambling.

TomSki  is a professional gambler / stock options trader whose 1999 'Video Poker Strategy Master' software provided a powerful tool for the serious video poker player. Tom has also done important studies on bankroll requirements for various video poker games.

Michael 'The Wizard of Odds' Shackleford

Michael 'The Wizard of Odds' Shackleford, A.S.A., is a professional actuary who has made a career of analyzing casino games on his web site   wizardofodds.com . Some difficult video poker variations he has analyzed include Guaranteed Play, One-Eyed Jacks, 3 Way Action, Ace$ Bonus Poker, Sequential Royals, Ace Invaders, Draw 6 Poker, Cryptologic Bonus Poker, Ace on the Deal, Double Draw, Opponent Poker, Pay the Aces, Shockwave, Triple Trouble, and World Series of Poker (Final Table Bonus). Michael has served as an Adjunct Professor of Casino Math at the UNLV and is the author of the book Gambling 102. The Wizard's landmark research into the actual returns of slot machines on the Las Vegas strip garnered international attention in 2002, and he has appeared numerous times on national television as a recognized expert on gambling strategy.

Stanford Wong

2002 Charter Member

Stanford Wong  is best known for his blackjack and sports betting activities, but he also made major contributions to video poker. His 1991 VIDEO POKER ANALYZER was the first software to analyze video poker and was shortly followed by his VPEXACT software. His 1993 'Professional Video Poker' book was an early guide to playing video poker for profit.
