Ron - E2 - and I - F2 - were Goats together in many - many last - and near last sections. There was never a cadet more laid back than "a tenth over 2.0 was a wasted tenth" Ron Murray. After graduation our paths never crossed but I bet Ron lived his life with the same "no sweat" approach that he displayed as a cadet. Well done Ron RIP Willy -w March 18 - 2006 I spent two years with Ron in E-2 and was in the pistol club with him. Although he was known to enjoy a good argument I never had one with him. He made friends easily and had many of them. I have not crossed paths with him since WP but I am sure whatever he did he did well. "Well done Ron - Be thou at Peace". Jack Jack McAuslan March 19 - 2006 At both West Point and in later years Ron was a gentleman and - indeed - a gentle man. Fortunately we lived close by for several years and I was able to witness how often he brought sunshine and a wonderful sense of humor to others. Sleep well - Ron. I look forward to seeing you again one day. Roy Thorsen May 4 - 2006 We first met on 2 July 51 on the train from Worcester to Albany then down to the Point. As we crossed the NY state line I was informed by Ron that we could now have a beer (18 years of age legal then - I was still 17) - which of course we did. Yearling and Cow years we roomed together - I was envious of his Glee Club trips with war stories. I had not seen Ron since 55 but talked at length about five years ago. A piece of me left with you - old friend! God bless you and keep the party going up there 'til we all show up. Dick Lilly May 5 - 2006 |
