Classmates,
I regret to inform you that our classmate Bob Doerr died on 22 December. He was being treated for lymphoma. His wife Barbara said that the chemo had weakened him terribly. The official cause of death was congestive heart failure. The burial a few days ago was for only a small number of immediate family. I just got this information tonight when Barbara called. Obviously there were no classmates or flowers at the funeral, but Barbara will let me know where the class can send the charitable donation.

In sadness,

Matt

Bob, aka Snakes to the '55 Plebe Swim Team, and I swam together and ate next to each on the '55 Plebe Swim Team Table. We were both Backstrokers so we did many a lap together dodging the Varsity divers. Snakes was as nice a guy as anyone would want to be around. Nothing phased him in the cruel world of a '55 Plebe. Many a day would find me down in the dumps until I spent some time with Snakes, when his carefree attitude always cheered me up. For this I will always be indebted.

Well done Snakes........RIP
