I remember Dick as a classmate with a very friendly half-smile. He always had a pleasant greeting for me; I felt that he liked me although I can't say why. I felt a great loss when he died so young. Dick Fontaine January 8 - 2002 Those of us in F-1 got a first hand look at personal courage when Dick became ill with cancer in our First Class year. There was no whining - no complaining ... he just sucked it up and moved ahead with life. He would have made a splendid career soldier.
