My family moved to Homer, LA in 1949. My husband and I were married forty eight and one half years before he past away Nov. 26, 2000. He fell on Aug. 11th and broke his hip. He had emphysema and while in the hospital they found he had kidney cancer. After we married he was in construction with L.E. Myers Electrical Contractors and we moved a number of times. We moved back to Homer in 1967. We have three married daughters, four grand children and two great grand children - Linda and husband Wayne live in Homer with their son Kevin who is a senior at SAU. Linda has a BA, Masters Plus 30 in Education. Lisa and husband Jon live in Bossier City LA. Lisa has two Associate Degrees in Business. They have two sons John Robert who is married to Jennifer and they have two children Colin and Mallory - John Robert has a Masters Degree in Business Education and teaches at Haughton Middle School and plans to go into the ministry in the near future. Hunter is a junior at La Tech. Laura and husband Jimmy live in Minden,LA where they raise Alpacas. Laura has a Masters Degree in Critical Care Nursing. She has a daughter, Ashley, who attends Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, LA. My Mother, Viola Murphy Hatcher, lives in Homer also. She has her home but spends her nights with me. My sister Bobbye Murphy Sprague, a 1949 graduate of Stamps High School, lives in Fort Walton Beach, FL. My brother who was two years behind me lives in Satellite Beach, FL. I spend most of my time with my family or traveling with them. |
