LTC nance earned an MBA from Georgia State University following graduation from West Point.
As a young Army Officer, he fought in the Korean War and was awarded the Silver Star for gallantry in action. He completed several tours of Vietnam as a Special Forces Commanding Officer, and was awarded the Legion of Merritt for his conduct in the performances of outstanding service. Following his retirement from the Army, he worked as a bank executive for a few years.
He is survived by his son, grandchildren, three daughters, and a step-son who is a retired Col.
