Army vs TCU - 4 October, 2003, 6:00 pm



The Army Football Team will be battling the "Horned Frogs" of Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas on Saturday, 4 October 2003 at 6:00PM at T.C.U.-Amon Carter Stadium located on the campus of T.C.U.

Activities planned for the weekend: Friday, 3 October 2003, at 6:00 pm: The Army Rally at TGI Fridays located at The Ballpark in Arlington, Texas, home of the Texas Rangers Baseball Team. The USMA Cadet Band and the Cadet Rabble Rousers along with other dignitaries will be present.

Saturday, 4 October 2003: 3:00 pm: USMA Update: Lieutenant General Lennox, USMA Superintendent, will give an update for the general public about the Academy. The location will be the PepsiCo Theater in the Walsh Center for the Performing Arts, 2800 S. University Drive on the campus of TCU.

3:30 pm until 6:00 pm: US Army weapons and equipment static displays in Frog Alley. Also, the Relay Sports and Event Marketing Group will have Army interactive games and displays including "Rock Wall" climbing, relays, etc.

4:00 pm: Army Tailgate Party just outside the main east gate of TCU-Amon Carter Stadium. Go to http://www.westpointnorthtexas.org to sign up. Reservations required and must be made by 29 September.

5:45 pm: A Horse Detachment from Ft. Hood, Texas will bring the game ball and the U.S. Flag into the stadium.

5:50 pm: Ceremony honoring CPT Tristan Aitken, TCU Class of 1995, who was killed in Iraq. Tristan's sister, CPT Terryl Aitken, who is stationed at West Point, will participate in the ceremony, along with his parents.

5:55 pm: National Anthem sung by Patrick Crocker, a TCU Army ROTC Cadet.

6:00 pm: Army-TCU Football Kick-Off!! Go Army!!!

Half-time: Tribute to Korean War Veterans who are graduates of West Point and TCU. Any USMA graduate who served in the Korean War is invited to assemble five minutes before the end of the second quarter at the Southwest ramp of the stadium (coliseum and press box side) to be organized for the ceremony. Col. (Retired) James Stone, who was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor, will be honored. Recent returnees from Iraq, who are presently stationed at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma or Ft. Bliss, Texas will also be honored. 150 new recruits from the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex who will be inducted into the US Army will be sworn in by Major General Mike Maples, USMA '71, who is the Commanding General of Fort Sill.

Class of '56 Reunion: On Thursday, 2 October 2003, at 7:00 pm on the campus of the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas, the West Point Class of 1956 will hold a reunion dinner. The speaker will be Lieutenant General Lennox. Members of the Class of '56 who plan on attending should check with their class officers for more information.
