April Society Meeting

The next society luncheon is the 21st of April at 1130 hours at the ROCC ‘s Loft.  I have asked Joe Creekmore to give us a run down on his recent visit to West Point to attend the MALO conference.  Everyone who is involved with the Admissions program (and that is most of us), should come to hear what is new on the Admissions and West Point Liaison efforts.

For the May meeting – 19 May – it will be held at the Veteran’s Museum and I am looking for a speaker who is working on the Memorial to be build downtown, so put that date on your calendar.  The society picks up the luncheon for this meeting – BBQ from the Club.

Tour de Cure Greetings from Mark H Smith MD

Friends, family, colleagues….

Once again, I accepted the challenge of cycling in the American Diabetes Association's Tour de Cure fund-raising event. The Tour de Cure is a series of cycling events held in over 80 cities nationwide. I have joined thousands of others to pedal in support of the Association's mission: to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.

I am asking you to help by supporting my fund-raising efforts with a donation. Your tax-deductible gift will make a difference in the lives of more than 23 million Americans who suffer from diabetes and over 57 million people in the United States with pre-diabetes.

It's fast and easy to support this great cause – you can make your donation online by selecting the "Click to Support Me" link below. This is my personal site from ADA and a personal message to all of you is there to read.

Any amount, great or small, helps in the fight against this deadly disease. I greatly appreciate your support and will keep you posted on my progress. If you want to do even more to help, please consider joining me in this great event. Our efforts will help set the pace in the fight against diabetes.

More information on the American Diabetes Association, its programs and diabetes in general can be found at the Association's Web site: www.diabetes.org
