Lieutenant Colonel Louis F. Strawn,

Lt. Col. Louis F. Strawn, (Retired), US Army, passed away at the Texas Heart Institute, St. Luke's Hospital, Houston, TX, February 22, 1999. Son of the late Col. and Mrs. Christopher C. Strawn, he was born September 25, 1921 at Fort Stotensburg in the Philippine Islands. Col. Strawn graduated from Austin High School in El Paso, attended United States Military Academy and graduated from the University of San Francisco. After attending Officer's Candidate School in 1945, he was commissioned in the infantry, later transferring to the Corp of Engineers and Quartermaster Corps. He served at many stations including key overseas assignments in Austria, Germany, Japan, Korea, and Vietnam. Col. Strawn was a loving and dedicated husband and father whose greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Inez; daughter, Edith Sue; sons, Louis F. Jr., Christopher C., Stephen Mark; nine grandchildren and sisters, Miriam Ruhlen, Martha Paul, and Margaret Chandler. Visitation will be held at 6:30 P.M., Thursday, February 25th at the Sunset Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 9:00 A.M., Friday, February 26th at Sunset Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Raymond Judd will be officiating. Interment to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
