BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING
29 January 2001
1. ATTENDANCE. The Board of Directors of the West Point Society of South Texas (WPSST) met at Luby's at Central Park Mall, and convened at 1845 hours. Present and constituting a quorum were Barth, Best, Betts, Coonan, Hogan, Koehler, McLaughlin, and Schultz. 2. SECRETARY'S REPORT. (Koehler '76 ) The Minutes of the 8 January 2001 Board Meeting were reviewed. Resolved (Betts/Hogan) to accept the Minutes as read. Approved unanimously. 3. TREASURER'S REPORT. (Best, '74) Report for 29 January 2001 was submitted. Resolved (Coonan/Hogan) to accept the Treasurer's Report as published. Approved unanimously.. 4. COMMITTEE REPORTS: a. ADMISSIONS: (Reported by Griffin, '58). Board unanimously approved candidate parents receiving a discount for attending Founders Day with their respective son or daughter. b. PROGRAMS: (Reported by Barth '70). (1) Founders Day 2001. Mark Cole is working on the programs. Dave McLaughlin is doing the flyer/invitations, and Dan Coonan is doing the mailing labels. The price of the meal includes a glass of white or red wine for all. (2) 28 April 2001 Rugby Tournament. Discussed support required from the Society. 5. OLD BUSINESS: None. 6. NEW BUSINESS: a. Annual Membership Meeting. Dave McLaughlin was pleased with the attendance. b. Dave McLaughlin will prepare a slate of new officers to be decided upon at the February Board of Director's Meeting. c. Programs for 2001. Dave McLaughlin reviewed possible topics with the board. d. West Point Bicentennial Celebration Activities. Dave McLaughlin recommended the board consider scheduling activities coinciding with this event. e. Founders Day 2002. Dave McLaughlin recommended the board reserve a date and location as soon as possible. 7. The meeting adjourned (Betts/Coonan) by unanimous consent at 2005 hours. 8.
