BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING
8 January 2001
1. ATTENDANCE. The Board of Directors of the West Point Society of South Texas (WPSST) met at Denny's at Loop 410 and Blanco Road, and convened at 1845 hours. Present and constituting a quorum were Barth, Best, Betts, Coonan, Foreman, Koehler, McLaughlin, Schultz, and Thuss. 2. SECRETARY'S REPORT. (Koehler '76 ) The Minutes of the 27 November 2000 Board Meeting were reviewed. Resolved (Coonan/Best) to accept the Minutes as read. Approved unanimously. 3. TREASURER'S REPORT. (Best, '74) Report for 8 January 2001 was submitted. Resolved (Thuss/Barth) to accept the Treasurer's Report as published. Approved unanimously.. 4. COMMITTEE REPORTS: ADMISSIONS: (Reported by Griffin, '58). The reception for new candidates for admission to West Point will start at 1815 during Founders Day PROGRAMS: (Reported by Barth '72). a. Founders Day 2001. Benny Havens hour will start at 1830, and dinner will start at 1930. The menu was discussed, and will include a choice of prime rib or baked chicken. This year there will be a door prize presented. b. April 2001 Luncheon. No details available. 5. OLD BUSINESS: a. Annual Membership Meeting. The Annual Membership Meeting is scheduled for Friday, January 26, 2001 at 1730 at the Fort Sam Houston Golf Course. b. Nominating Committee (Reported by Betts '34). Nominations for the Board of Directors include: LTC Russell L. Prewitt-Campbell '78 and Robert C. Marshall '76. Best '74 will seek another term. 6. NEW BUSINESS: a. Dues will remain at $ 20.00 per year. b. Dan Coonan, VP for Membership, asked for someone to assist him, and serve as an understudy. c. Best presented the proposed 2001 budget to the board. It was approved. 7. The meeting adjourned (Best/Betts) by unanimous consent at 2000 hours. 8. The next WPSST Board of Directors Meeting will convene at 1800 hours on 26 January 2001, at Fort Sam Houston Golf Course for the Annual Membership Meeting. Respectfully submitted: Collyon S.
