ANNOUNCING FOUNDERS DAY 2006

Celebrating the 204TH Anniversary OF THE FOUNDING OF WEST POINT

 

WPSST celebrates Founders Day this year at the Lackland Gateway Club, Lackland AFB, Texas.  Directions, menu, and payment options are on the reverse side. We are fortunate to welcome Brigadier General Curtis M. Scaparrotti, Commandant, USMA, Class of 1978, as our guest speaker.

 

DRESS.  Military: Dress Blues. Civilian: Black tie or dark suit.  Ladies: Evening gown or cocktail dress.

 

PRICE. The price is $40 per person for members and their guests and $45 per person for non-members and their guests.  If your 2006 dues are paid prior to the deadline, you will be eligible for the member price. The mailing label attached to this flyer indicates your dues status. DEADLINE.  Reservations must be received no later than Friday, March 17, 2006.  No refunds will be made for cancellations after that date. Please complete the form on the reverse side for the mail-in payment option. Or, pay by credit card on the WPSST website (See instructions on the reverse side). DIRECTIONS.  From Highway 90, exit at Military Drive/Lackland AFB, and go south on Military Drive to the second traffic light, which is Luke Boulevard.  Turn left onto Luke Boulevard and enter Lackland AFB (the security police are aware of our function) Every driver must have proof of insurance, current vehicle registration, and either military ID card or driver's license.  BE SURE ALL ITEMS ARE CURRENT!  All vehicle occupants must have government issued photo ID. Once past the gate, go to the first four way stop sign.  The Gateway Club will be to your immediate right front. There is ample parking on-site at no charge. 

 

PROGRAM. A registration table will be in the foyer of the Fiesta Ballroom.  Please sign-in and pick up your name tags.  A seating chart will be located near the main entrance to the ballroom.  Benny Havens hour will be from 1730 to 1900 hours. Cash bars will be in the foyer and the Alamo Room, to the right of the foyer. The Alamo Room will also have tables and chairs for seating during the Benny Havens hour.  Mess call will sound at 1900 hours. The dinner and program should conclude by 2100 hours.

RAWSAXX , a superb combo band, will play for our listening pleasure during Benny Havens hour.

 

MENU. Dinner menu selections include 2 choices: Roast Prime Rib (B) or Chicken Bonanza (C).  Each meal will include an entrée, two vegetables, dinner salad with dressing, roll, coffee, tea, and Apple Cobbler w/ whipped Cream for dessert.  One glass of wine is included for toasts..

 

PAYMENT.  There are two ways to register and pay.

 

First, you can use the form on the WPSST website to register and pay for your annual dues and/or for the Founder's Day dinner by credit card on line.  It saves you the trouble of writing and mailing a check.  This service is provided to our Society by West Point.
