Mount Bonnell Spring 2012 Clean-up (9:00 AM)

Mt. Bonnell is turning green, the mountain laurel is trying to bloom, the weather will be ideal, and the Society is running the Mt. Bonnell Spring Clean-up this Saturday morning. But we still need volunteers to help pick up litter, spread crushed granite, weed gardens, improve trails and assist the Central Texas Mountaineers who will be rappelling to remove litter on the steeper slopes.

Please sign up at Austin Parks Foundation or just come on out and join us at the base of the stairs at 9:00 Saturday morning.

Society Luncheon (11:30 AM - 1:00 PM)
Our monthly luncheon will be held at 11:30 Wednesday 14 March at the Salt Grass Restaurant located at 10614 Research Blvd.

Our speaker will be Marty McKellips. She is the Chief Executive Officer for the Central Texas Region of the American Red Cross which covers 48 counties and serves a population of 3.2 million.

The topic of her presentation is the Veteran's History Project. The Red Cross is partnering with the Library of Congress to record (video and audio) veterans as they tell their stories about their service to our country. The recordings will be housed in the Library of Congress for generations to come.
