Governor's Send Off:  1100-1130; The Capitol, North Wing Stairs area (near to the Governors office).  Convenient parking:    Magenta area identified with a P at the cornerof Capitol Sq, Capitol Pl,and Capitol Ave (which becomes Piedmont Ave).  The address is:  216 Capitol Ave.  SE, Atlanta, GA 30334

They charge $5.

The Luncheon will follow the Send Off itself:

Luncheon:  1230-?, The Shrine (400 Ponce De Leon Ave NE, Atlanta, GA 30308)

Luncheon Speaker:  Our speaker is Lt/Gen William Webster, who retired from the Army here in Atlanta after commanding Third Army. Gen Webster is a member of '74 & played football. He was a cadet parent, so has empathy with all attending. Among his significant assignments was command of the 24th Infantry Division in Iraq. He is a low key, riveting speaker who will discuss issues relevant to all present.

AS THIS IS A CATERED EVENT, WE NEED AS ACCURATE A HEADCOUNT AS POSSIBLE. PLEASE DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE TO RSVP IN SOME WAY, SHAPE OR FORM...WE NEED TO ENSURE THAT THERE IS ENOUGH FOOD FOR ALL THOSE YOUNG WARRIORS AND THEIR SIBLINGS (AND OLD GRADS WHO WISH THEY COULD STILL EAT LIKE THAT) ....BE CONSIDERATE ....THANK YOU

 *  Dues-paying members of WPSA - $25.00 if paid by June 4th.  The cost is $30 at the door.
 *  Non dues-paying members of WPSA and their guests - same as dues-paying due to higher cost of the caterer.
*  Alumni of other academies - same.
*  Parents and their guests - same.

*  KIDS SPECIAL:  brothers/sisters (12 & under) of appointees - $10.00.

Happy New Year, Fellow Graduates and Friends of West Point!

Founders’ Day is right around the corner and we are excited that the USMA Commandant will join us this year.  Please make every effort to attend.  Not only is this one of our Society’s signature events, but this year’s Founders’ Day marks a turning point for our Society:  this is the first Founders’ Day away from the friendly confines of Fort McPherson!  The Board has worked hard to contain the cost for this event.  Unfortunately, the reality is that the loss of the Commons at Fort McPherson is going to necessitate a higher cost for this year’s event.  We ask each of you for your continued support of this activity.

As we plan our events and activities for 2012, I want to ask you, on behalf of our Board of Governors, to commit to continuing your support of our Society, not only through your dues, but also through your continued (and increased) support of our Society’s activities. 

With your payment of dues for 2012, you will receive a copy of the updated Membership Roster for the West Point Society of Atlanta, where you will be able to check and see if you have Classmates, Companymates, or friends in the Atlanta area.  You might even find that you have neighbors who are fellow USMA Graduates!

Dues are our main source of revenue and, in 2011, your dues helped support the following activities, which we would like to continue in the coming years and hope to see you at, including the:
