I know you are not mentally psyched up for that, but live with it. Some months inevitablyhave the First on a Fri, meaning the luncheon is early. This is also the Constitution & Bylaw required annual meeting of the membership. We will hear reports (extremely short, we promise) from the outgoing BOG &elect a new class of governors to serve from 1 July 2009 - 30 June 2012. Which brings us to our speaker for the luncheon. We have been promised a speaker from CDC who knows about these things and will discuss "Flu Pandemics and How to Control Them." (Or words to that effect.) This topic is still in so much in a state of flux that we cannot be more specific at this time. If something happens (like the speaker comes down w/ the flu that AM) I'll have on standby a lady pig farmer from Iowa who will talk about the Swine part of Swine Flu, so we will have all bases covered! If she can't make it, we even have a SECOND back up, followed by a Fourth. Like good Boy Scouts, we are prepared!
All the members of the "Old Corps," who resided at West Point during the winter of 1957-58 will recall the flu epidemic that had nearly 2/3 of us sick at the same time. Not fun!
