No, we haven't forgotten about luncheons! The Sept luncheon was canceled because it fell the day before the annual picnic, which was a huge success. That leaves Oct & Nov for fall luncheons - so mark your calendars for 17 Oct & 21 Nov. Those are the magic days. Both are scheduled for 1130 hrs. Venue: Yaarab Shrine Complex on Ponce de Leon. Cost $15/$20. Speaker: Oct will feature a quick & dirty report on the annual AOG Leaders' conference. It was an interesting event, w/ several contentious subjects being discussed (as well as cussed). We will keep it extremely short, just covering the critical topics so you know where all the mines are planted w/o using your bayonet to probe for them. The guest speaker will be Stephen Maitland (No, you've never heard of him unless you have spent time at Carlisle Barracks recently and visited the new Army Heritage Center and Museum.). Stephen will talk about same and what it means to all the Army. Would you believe that the Army is the only service that doesn't have a central museum encompassing all aspects of the Army? That has now been rectified. Location: Yaarab Shrine Complex, 400 Ponce de Leon Ave, NE, Atlanta, GA 30308. 1230 hrs or 12:30 PM, 13 June 2008. Cost: $20.00 per non dues-paying members and their guests; $15.00 per person for dues-paying members and their guests. (A reservation made is a reservation paid!) Pay by cash or check only at the door OR online. There will be no refunds. As usual, RSVP on line or by e-mail to Jan Heath or by phone to Jan; questions should be directed to Don Reinhard, author of this saga
