Dinner Event at Petite Auberge Restaurant:  We will meet on WED, 27 Sept (Happy Birthday to me) at 1815 hrs (6:15 PM for the converted folks out there) at La Petite Auberge.  Cash bar till 1900; dinner served promptly at 1900; speaker at about 1930.  Roughly 30 min of preplanned text, followed by as many questions & answers as we can tolerate (well, maybe the speaker will run out of steam first).  

Speaker:  BG Mark Kimmitt '76, Deputy Director of Strategy and Plans, J5, Central Command (CENTCOM).  His responsibilities include the development of strategy and plans for the Central Command area of responsibility, which includes nations in Central Asia, the Arabian Peninsula, the Levant, the Horn of Africa, and active operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.  BG Kimmitt is a '76 Grad; was commissioned in FA.  He has commanded at every level of the Army Field Artillery. He served as a Fire Support Officer in the 2nd Ranger Battalion,   commanded the 2-320th Field Artillery in the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), the 1st Armored Division Artillery in Germany and Bosnia, and the XVIII Airborne Corps Artillery.  You may recall him from exposure on TV during his assignment as Deputy Director of Operations/Chief Military Spokesman for Coalition Forces in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom.  BG Kimmitt will give us a contemporaneous report on how the GWOT is going, allowing us to structure the info we get through a long Q&A period.

When:  Wednesday, 27 Sep 06, 1815--cash bar; 1900--dinner served.  Vegetarian meal is available upon request in advance (same price as regular meal)

Dress:  Business casual

Cost:  Nonmembers and guests:  $35 per person.  Members and guests:  $30 per person.

Take I-85N to Exit 89 (North Druid Hills Road) and turn right.
