Speaker - Ed LaPorta. Ed is a WW-II Vet. Stomped ashore in Nord Afrique sometime in late 1942 (have to ask him if he has an arrowhead on his campaign ribbon for that theatre). One day he suddenly became a long-term guest of the Wehrmacht. Helped row a trireme across the Med from Nord Afrique to "The Soft Underbelly" of Festung Europa, where he languished till the spring of 1945 in a lush spa probably having a name starting out w/ "Stalag." The details we will have to get from him.

Now, having said all that - George Wieder promises that I will have to be standing in the wings w/ "THE HOOK" to cut him off at the appropriate time. Dale Hajost, who claims to have heard Ed says he will tell stories that will have you simultaneously ROFLOL & crying. We will apparently hear tales of how they continued to wage war as best they could in the fashion of the airmen in "The Great Escape."

Haven't set the menu yet. Will do that today - rest assured - we will have ceramic crockery & metal cutlery (That's Brit talk for glass dishes & metal silverware.)
