Subject: WP-ORG: Fund Drive 23: West-Point.Org - Providing Services to / for All
Over the past three weeks, you have had the opportunity to read several well
articulated accounts of the value of West-Point.Org. These messages served as
clear reminders of the myriad wonderful services afforded to our subscribers, as
grads ..... and others, as parents of cadets.
This week, I have been asked to write my views on West-Point.Org. As the spouse of an "older grad" (USMA 1968), mother of two "old grads" and mother-in-law of yet another "old grad" (2004, 2007 and 2005, respectively), I have had the opportunity to see, perhaps more clearly than many, the myriad services offered by West-Point.Org. But what I appreciate the most are the services provided that cut across generations. Services, such as providing subscribers the opportunity to reach across time and remember classmates and friends they have lost … to provide a lasting memorial for loved ones. (See: <http://www.west-point.org/taps/>http://www.west-point.org/taps/ ) Services, such as Class memory pages, which capture those special moments in time throughout a young man / woman’s 47 month leader development experience at West Point and can continue to bind classmates in a pictorial history for years to come. (See, for example: <http://www.west-point.org/family/mem2007/>http://www.west-point.org/family/mem2007/ ). Services, such as helping a fledging organization whose mission is to support our deployed soldiers and wounded heroes by providing a way for that organization to reach out and touch so many (see: <http://www.west-point.org/family/support-our-troops>www.west-point.org/family/support-our-troops). Service, such as helping those orphaned during WWII to come together to share experiences and learn more about the parent they never had the chance to know. Service, such as the volunteers (many) and employees (three) of West-Point.Org who work round the clock to keep us all connected to each other and connected to West Point.
My plea is short, simple and to the point: *please* send money now . . . so we all can continue to enjoy the benefits of West-Point.org's services. Please help complete FD 23 in record time. It matters not what you give, but that you consider giving. No contribution is too small and your support is greatly appreciated.
