WPPC Boodle Meeting – September 6, 2008

The meeting was held at the home of Alan and Annette Mandel.  The meeting began at 12:30 PM.  Cadet and Graduate parents assembled boodle boxes, watched the Army-Temple football game, and enjoyed a potluck lunch.

 

November 2008 WPPC Meeting

The November meeting of the WPPC will be held Saturday, November l5 at 11:30 AM.  Location is the Bandana’s BBQ restaurant located at 4608 N. IL Route l59 in Fairview Heights, IL.  This meeting will be dedicated to Operation Support Our Troops.  We will write notes in holiday cards to sent to the troops (cards will be provided).  Please come ready to write a few notes to let our troops know how much we appreciate them!

 

A buffet lunch will be served at 12:00.   Cost is $10 per person.  Door prizes are from Class of 2009.

All Academies Ball

The All Academies Ball will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2008 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Clayton, MO. The event is being hosted by Navy this year.  Invitations for AAB will be mailed no later than 11/22/08. AAB will be held again at the Crowne Plaza Hotel on Saturday, Dec 27th from 6:00pm to midnight.  Ticket prices are 48.00 per person. Susan Smith & Lisa Hundelt are Army representatives; Jenny Regan &Patrice Feldman are Navy chairs. 

 

Cadet Newell receives Amos Bock Scholarship

Cadet Jason Newell ‘12, son of Mark and Kerri Newell of Rolla, MO has received the first Captain Amos Bock Memorial Service Academies Scholarship which was established by Amos's parents, Jill and Riley Bock of New Madrid, Mo. On October 23, 2006 Amos Bock was killed while on patrol with his platoon near Baghdad, when his vehicle was struck by an EFP (Explosively Formed Projectile) bomb. He was a member of the 4/320th Field Artillery Battalion, 101st Airborne and a 2004 graduate of West Point.

LTC Chris Ballard '88 is with the G-3 section of European Command in Stuttgart, Germany. Chris is the son of Lawrence & Marilyn Ballard.

 

MAJ Thomas Shea '92 is currently on his 7th deployment and made the LT Colonel's list for promotion. Thomas is the son of Tom and Martha Shea.

 

CPT Adrian Zdazinsky '03 re-enlisted for another 3 years .This summer, Adrian completed his assignment at Ft Irwin and is currently attending Captain's School at Ft. Benning. Adrian is the son of Chip & Peggy Zdazinsky.

 

1LT Tirzah Eskew '06 is a MEDVAC pilot currently stationed in Hawaii. She is currently undergoing Blackhawk training at Ft. Irwin. Tirzah is the daughter of Gay Eskew.

 

2LT Sean Flachs '08 is currently at Ft. Leonard Wood and waiting to attend Engineer Basic training. Sean is the son of Patrick and Lorraine Flachs.

 

2LT Rachel Larson '08 is doing OBT at Ft. Sill, OK and is doing well. She will travel to Ft. Lee, VA at the end of September. Rachel is the daughter of Nathan and Mary Larson.

 

2LT Trevor Saunders '07 is currently a platoon leader south of Baghdad for Unit 3-187 Infantry Regiment, 101 Airborne Division. Trevor is the son of Jimmie and Paula Saunders.

 

2LT Monica Shea '08 is at Ft. Sill for training. She will travel to Ft. Sam in Houston, TX for MSC training. Monica will be married in December. Monica is the daughter of Tom and Martha Shea.

 

Michelle Alderson '09 is S-1 for 4th regiment and majoring in life sciences. She is a member of the Orienteering Team. Michelle is the daughter of Mike & Nancy Alderson.

 

Logan Phillips '09 spent the summer working on weapons/body armor in Idaho and. at a Leadership school at Ft. Bragg. Logan is co-captain of the Rebel Rousers and they did so well at camp that they were awarded a scholarship to the National Cheerleaders Competition held in Daytona, FL later this spring.

 

Lauren Beckler '10 was a pent-athlete for the Spring semester and is a member of the USMA cheerleading squad. She completed her summer internship at USBC in Santa Barbara, CA. Lauren is the daughter of Terry & Melissa Beckler.

 

Robbie Mandel '10 was Company Commander during CBT. He will travel to Russia in the Spring semester and is a member of the Sprint football team. Robbie is the son of Alan and Annette Mandel.

 

Thomas Fowler '11 finished CFT at Ft. Knox and Ft. Jackson with letters of recommendation for promotion from his superiors. Thomas chose nuclear engineering as his major. Thomas is the son of Tim and Carolyn Fowler.

 

Turner Holthaus '11 completed Air Assault School this summer and traveled to Ft. Knox during CFT. Turner is a member of the West Point paintball team. Turner is the son of Richard and Marta Holthaus.

 

Stephen May '11 made the Dean's List last year and is member of the baseball team. Stephen is the son of Roger and Carla May.

 

Christopher Rojewski '11 completed CFT and really enjoyed commanding a tank at Ft. Knox. He is looking forward to another year on the diving team. Christopher is the son of Chris & Vicki Rojewski.

 

Timothy Thomas '11 graduated from Air Assault School this summer. Timothy is the son of JIm and Paula Thomas.

 

Colin Smith '11 completed CFT and ground combat training this summer. He is a member of the lacrosse team.  Colin is the son of Susan Smith.

 

Alan Spadone ’11 recently had the opportunity to dine with retired CBS news anchor Dan Rather after Rather spoke to his Advanced American Politics class.  Alan is the son of Don and Kathy Spadone.

 

Raymond Wagner '11 made the Weapons Combat Team.  He graduated this summer from Air Assault School.  Raymond is the son of Ray & Ann Wagner.

 

Michael Kohne '12 made it through Beast and is adjusting well to life at West Point.  Michael is the son of Kevin & Mary Kohne.

 

Rachael Yanker '12 is on the volleyball team.  Rachael is the daughter of Mark & Eleanor Yanker.
