September 10 Minutes at Ozzie’s in
The September meeting of the
West Point Parents Club of St. Louis was called to order by President Mike
Collins at 11:30 a.m. Parents first began assembling boodle boxes for cadets
and active duty soldiers of members. The official meeting began at 1:15 p.m.
with an invocation by Mike McCullough followed by the pledge of allegiance.
President Collins thanks those who had contributed to the club’s fundraising,
and asked Treasurer Mike Hughes to give the treasurer’s report.
1. The annual women’s soccer
tournament at SLU sponsored by the Toys for Tots is next weekend. WPPC will
supply box lunches for the WP team on Sunday as they head back to WP.
2. Marge McCullough discussed
troop outreach; shared a brochure their church uses to collect troop supplies,
which our club mails.
3. Greg Cook has announced
that he has season tickets for the football games, and has several dates he
will not attend and is willing to sell the tickets – Nov. 12, and Nov. 19. If
anyone is interested, please contact Greg at 618-457-2927.

Phyllis Hoppe
A
long time member (27 years) passed away recently and will be missed by all.
William & Phyllis have a son and son in law William Hoppe ’83 and Larry Beisel ’83 who graduated from the Academy.
Membership Drive
So
far this year we have signed up 5 plebe parents out of a class of 10; half the
current club members. We will start a calling campaign to increase membership
this coming week. If you have not paid your dues and wish to be a member,
please send $20 for a graduate and $35 for a cadet to: Mike Hughes,
The Seeds of Victory
ESPN
Classic will show a film about the 2004 Army Football team seniors, titled
"The Seeds of Victory," on Saturday, Nov. 5 at 1:30 p.m. prior to the
Army-Air Force game scheduled to air at 2:30 p.m. And it will air on ESPN2 on Friday Nov. 4 at
6 a.m. and will have multiple re-airs on ESPNU (times to be announced) during
the month of December.
All Academy Ball
The
All Academy Ball will be held on Friday, December.23, from 6:00 to 12:00 p.m. It will be at the same place as last year in

Maj Thomas Shea '92 is currently enrolled at C G & S
College and has move to Ft Bragg, SC home of the 82nd Airborne.
Thomas is the son of Tom & Martha Shea.
Maj Jay Broemmel ’95 has
completed his 2nd tour of
Maj Andy Zieseniss, '95, was
promoted to Major; is assigned under the Officer Exchange Program to the
Capt Chris Simpson `96 is out
of the Army and teaching ROTC at U of Cincinnati. Chris is the son of Howard
& Clara Simpson.
Capt Travis R Jadlot ’99 is with the 101st Airborne and will
be going back to
Lt Adam Brink '03 is at Ft
Carson CO and was accepted to NORAD OCS. Adam is the son of Bill & Judy
Brink.
Lt William Harryman
’03 is going to
Lt Steven Hemmann '03 earned
his Master’s from East-West University; has completed a fellowship in China; is
currently in Infantry Officer Basic Course; will attend the Bradley Leadership
course; in May he will go to Germany to transfer
to a mechanized infantry company in Iraq.
Lt Jack Johannes '03 is
currently in the
Lt Adrian Zdazinsky '03 is a
Bradley vehicle platoon leader in
Lt Will Eberle '04 has
graduated from Infantry Officer Basic Course (IOBC) and has become an Army
Ranger. He is currently in
Lt David Howald '04 returned
from Prague World University Orientation competition; has earned his airborne
wings; graduated from Field Artillery Officer Basic Course (FAOBC); and is
finishing Ranger School at Ft Benning, GA. David is the son of Kent & Betty
Howald.
Lt Robert McCullough '04 is
Battalion Maintenance Officer in
Lt Justin Liesen '05 is
currently in Engineers Officer Basic Course (EOBC) at Ft Leonardwood, MO; after
EOBC he will go to Ft Lewis as a platoon leader in the 25th Infantry
Division Stryker Brigade. Justin is the
son of John & Judy Liesen.
Mike Collins '06 is now an Army
Sapper; is part of the Army Triathlon Team and will be on the all-Sapper
Tirzah Eskew '06 is the
Academy’s Honor Board Secretary whose decisions affect Cadets who are in
trouble. Tirzah is the daughter of Gay Eskew.
Joseph Sanfilippo '06 has
earned the German Proficiency Badge; is playing Intramural Soccer and is
majoring in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering. Joseph is the son of
Joe & Pam Sanfilippo.
Adam Hilkenkamp '07 returned
from a summer internship in
Sean Flachs '08 is a member of
the Army Rugby Team. Sean’s Grandfather Walter was in attendance at this meeting
and enjoyed the Army football games with everyone. Walter was the President of
our club in 1971 while his son Patrick attended the Academy. Sean is the son of Patrick & Lorraine
Flachs.
John Hughes '08 has joined
several clubs; is playing Intramural Soccer and will major in Spanish. John is
the son of Mike & Kathy Hughes.
Rachel Larson '08 made the
Dean’s List and the women’s diving team. Rachel is the daughter of Nathan &
Mary Larson.
Monica Shea '08 has signed up
for CPRC (Cadet Public Relations Course) where she will visit high school
promoting the Academy. She is also a member of the Army Crew Team and has made
the Dean’s List. Monica is the daughter of Tom & Martha Shea.
Troy Lee Wilson '08 made the
Dean’s List & is a member of the Team Handball Club.
Clinton Wing '08 completed
Armor Training at Ft Knox this summer as part of Cadet Field Training. He has
also made the Dean’s List and is majoring in Chinese and Russian.
Michelle Alderson '09 is a
member of the Orienteering club and plans to major in Chinese. Michelle is the
daughter of Michael & Nancy Alderson.
Mitchell Stock '09 made it
through Beast and is part of Army Wrestling Team. Mitchell is the son of James
& Sally Stock.
