M1917 - Smith and Wesson Blued revolver -Selective etched engraving

M1991 A1 - Colt Stainless steel pistol shown a two-toned pistol actual will be completely stainless steel -Etched engraving,
including the class motto with a -Coco Bolo grips with the
class crest engraved on one side and the USMA crest on the other (grips are
not shown in the picture) -Cost is $900 |
The nice part about both
pistols is that they work as a pair; both shoot the .45 ACP. During World War I manufacturers could not
produce enough 1911s for the Military.
To solve this problem the government tasked Colt and Smith &
Wesson to manufacture a revolver that could shoot the same ammo as the
1911. The result was the 1917. And the .45 ACP does not have a lip like
other revolver ammo the 1917 uses either half-moon or full-moon clips to load
the revolver. |
