Congratulations and welcome to the extended West Point Family. The network of parents clubs are here to help you and your cadet make the transition from civilian life to the West Point regimen.
If you are in the national capital area (Maryland, Washington DC or Northern Virginia) you are welcome to join us. Check out our photo albums for photos from past R Days, Acceptance Days, and other West Point events.
Check List for New Cadet Parents
** Join
the West Point Parent Club of Maryland, Washington DC, and Virginia. You
will get lots of helpful tips for your WP Parent experience and as a bonus
meet lots of great new friends!
** Make hotel reservations for R-Day
** Make hotel reservations for Acceptance Day
** Make hotel reservations for Plebe Parent Weekend
** Write a letter or card to your new cadet and mail at West Point on
R-Day.
** Purchase Class T-shirt and/or bag at visitor's center on R-Day.
Plan to attend one of the plebe Parent Potlucks in Virginia or Maryland during July (dates TBA). The potlucks are a great time to meet other Plebe Parents and hear about the latest news from West Point.
All members will
automatically be added to our Club's list server, (wppc-capdist@west-point.org)
but
you need to sign up for Plebe
Net the West-Point.org listserv for the current Plebe Class. Prior
to Plebe Net opening for incoming parents several weeks before R Day,
please join Prospective
Net for discussion about R Day and Beast.
Purchase Army-Navy Football tickets (if planning to go!). Your Cadet
will be allocated four tickets, and you may purchase them in person
at the
"A" Club desk in Eisenhower Hall on R-Day. Otherwise, to purchase
tickets on your own, you must join The "A" Club. Only parents
of Cadets can join, so you will have to wait until R-day to do so. Ask
to purchase tickets in Block #1324, WPPC of MD-DC-VA. Each member of
the
A-Club can purchase 4 priority seating and 4 additional seats. Further
