Ball State Game and Tailgate photos
It was wonderful seeing so many WPPC families @ the Ball State Game and tailgate party! It was a picture perfect day and Army won!
Speaking of "Picture Perfect", the Gregorians, 2013 Parents, took some great shots: click here.
Thank you to Jodi Deuger, for organizing our tailgate party..... and to all the members who pitched in: donating goods, setting up, manning the grill, collecting money, making coffee, selling shirts, taking photos and staying to clean up, your help was very much appreciated and we all had FUN!!
Thank you to Martha Laughna for resolving the Ball State game ticket/parking pass issue.
Thanksgiving Bus
It is time to reserve a spot for your cadet on the round trip bus to and from WP for Thanksgiving break. The bus will be scheduled to leave Trophy Point at 1pm on Wednesday, Nov 25th and return from Riverside station (rte 128) Newton at noon on Sunday, Nov 29th. A box lunch will be provided on the trip from WP.
The bus will also stop at the Roy Rogers rest stop in Sturbridge going both ways as usual. Arrival in Newton on Wednesday evening will depend on the amount of traffic. The best bet would be to check in with your cadet via cell phone. Cost of the round trip is $100.00.
Please mail your bus form and check made payable to WPPC of MA by Nov 16th to:
Paula Thimble
26 Emmons St.
Milford, MA 01757
As always, friends of MA cadets are welcome to travel via this bus.
Army/Navy Game - Saturday, December 12th, 2009
The WPPC-MA has reserved a block of rooms at the Doubletree Hotel for our members and they are now sold out! There are still available rooms in the hotel.
If you are not going to the Army Navy game in Philadelphia, come and join everyone at the West Point Society of New England's annual Army-Navy Football Tailgate here in Boston. This year's tailgate is at DJ's at the Garden (Voted 2008 Boston's Best by Improper Bostonian with 24 HDTV's). See the flyer for the details: 2009 Army Navy Tailgate.
New England All Academy Holly Ball, Saturday, December 26th, 2009
The Holly Ball is an annual formal dinner held to honor the cadets and midshipmen of the five U.S. Service Academies. It is held in places all over the country, including New England. Last year the WPPC-MA hosted the New England Holly Ball with almost 300 people attending. This year the Coast Guard Academy parents are hosting the event on Dec. 26. There will be cocktails, dinner and dancing along with some pomp & circumstance and a speaker. The evening is a lot of fun. The dress for the evening will be formal for the cadets (parade uniform or the women may wear the uniform with the black skirt) and formal/semi-formal for civilians (dark suit appropriate for men, formal or cocktail dress for women). Family members are welcome. More to follow....
Next Meeting: Sunday, January 31st, 2010
The 'Cow Loan' Celebration: details to come.
