I guess we really can't really call you NEW parents anymore, can we?? :>)
As we move into the second semester of your journey with the Long Gray Line, we would like to congratulate you on holding on during this wild first semester and now that the angst of the dreaded first after Christmas RETURN has subsided, we can talk about the future.
The success of any organization and club is the ability of each leadership class to be able to step aside and rest easy knowing that the next class will pick up the standard and improve on what has been done.
Our club is no different. It is time for the Class of 2013 to look deep into your soul and think about how you can help this club be the best it can be. The majority of the officers on the board right now will be graduating with their cadets in 5 months.
We need all the classes, but yours specifically, to step up and start filling the roles that will be left vacant a few scant months. It has been our goal over the last several years to have the "younger" classes take on more of a leadership role in the club so that as a "FIRSTIE" family, you will have completed your "obligation" to the club and can freely enjoy the firstie year with your cadet and not have the additional burden of club leadership on your shoulders.
This is really a great time to step up - you spend a half year learning, a year doing, then you get to rest and maybe mentor ( as an experienced parent)
Once again we ask, if you are interested in helping our club be the best in the nation, please contact one of us here below...

Lead the Way 5K update
The much anticipated Lead the Way 5K continues to make progress. Marty Whitcomb and Joe Rangitsch met with the action officer from the newly acquired Clay National Guard Center ( AKA NAS Atlanta)
Various routes were reconn'ed as well as receiving an explanation of the various directorates who will need to give their OK before we can start execution.
We remain very optimistic that we WILL have a run on the runway at NAS / DOBBINS - it is simply a matter of progressing through the bureaucracy to get the different approvals.
Because of this, we are being realistic and UNCOUPLING the run from any SPECIFIC date at this time, but we are still looking at the Mid April time frame.
Before you go shooting the messenger - remember that the intent of this event is to reach out to the community at large, not just the West Point / Service Academy family.
This event has the potential to be a MAJOR community event and we do NOT want to be short sighted.
Stay tuned for more updates.
We are still looking for energetic folks to get involved. If you are interested in being involved, email Joe at

THANKS
Joe, Mo and Marty

The West Point Parents Club of Georgia ( WPPC) would like to extend a warm welcome to the incoming parents of the Class of 2014.
As appointments are coming in and being accepted, the newest members of the Long Gray Line and their families will be entering into the journey of a lifetime.
Those of us who have gone before you are here to help you sort out this blizzard of new terms, behaviors, expectations and guidelines.
There is a lot of information for you to take in in a short period of time and we are here to help you along the way.
First of all.... please feel comfortable amongst us. We are all on the same roller coaster and it is easier to ride it if you know the passenger next to you has been where you are now.
To this end, this web site is geared to be an information and communication source. If you have a question, please ask it. More than likely, some else has the same question.
As an easy break in process, if you would contact one of the people listed below, we will guide you along as you learn about the club, about the "West Point Way" and about the Army as a whole:
Until the new slate of Officers take over in the Spring please contact the following >>>>
