Welcome West Point Parents!

WPP-NET stands for "West Point Parents Net". This is the net used by our parent moderators to pass "hard news" information to all parents who have an e-mail address in the west-point.org system.  WPP-NET is a closed net and the only person who can post messages to this net is the wpp-net moderator. This net operates on a "push" system. We push the information out to you unsolicited as we learn of news from West Point.

The WPP-NET website is intended to be the portal for all West Point parents (as your Internet browser home page if you wish), where you can find everything you need in one easy location.  If you don't find something you need, be sure to let me know, and our Webmaster will include it if at all possible.

CLICK HERE TO SUBSCRIBE TO WPP-NET
(if you are a member of plebe-net or parent-forum, you are already on WPP-NET)

A slice of 'Long Gray Line' PDF Print E-mail

Traci-Dale Crawford from the Newport News, Va., Daily Press, writes about the birthday celebration for Maury S. Cralle, class of 1928, celebrate his 103rd birthday.  Cadets, old graduates, and prospective candidates all come together to wish him a happy birthday.  It's a story of bonding and tradition.

"Ask some local cadets from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point about the importance of tradition, and they'll tell you about Maury S. Cralle.

Cralle, the second-oldest living graduate from West Point, was recently honored by the West Point Society of Williamsburg during its annual Summer Family Picnic. Cralle, born in 1904, celebrated his 103rd birthday Aug. 5."
... Graduates say you never forget much of your time at West Point, with some memories being more pleasant than others. Cralle remembers fondly having a horse to care for during his West Point years from 1924-1928."

Random Quote:

“The spirit and tradition of this place are in every way worthy of its noble setting. ‘Duty, Honor, County’ – The ideal embodied in this motto of the Academy has been the quickening impulse through the years of more than a century. To that ideal your predecessors, those ancestors of the spirit, have, with the rarest exceptions, been remarkably steadfast. They have been honorable gentlemen, gentlemen unafraid, who did their full duty with patriotic devotion.”
