USMA Ferry Service from South Dock to Garrison, NY PDF Print E-mail
Fare is 25 cents per person.

Parents, be forewarned that you cannot ride the ferry without being accompanied by a cadet and as their guest.  In the alternative, your cadet can call the USMA Harobormaster and authorize you (by name) to ride the ferry that day only.  If you are not accompanied by a cadet your name, and the names of all accompanying you, must be on a list of approved riders held by the Harbormaster or you will be denied passage on the ferry.

The ferry will operate for the remainder of 2007 on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and some Mondays (as shown on the detailed schedule) through to and including October 28.  After that date the ferry will cease service through the Winter until Spring of 2008.  The ferry is also scheduled to operate on Monday October 15, at the conclusion of Plebe Parent Weekend.

- The ferry will depart the USMA South Dock 10 minutes prior to the scheduled arrival of Southbound (in the direction of New York City) trains at Garrison.  That is approximately on the hour and half hour.

- The ferry will depart Garrison to West Point 10 minutes after the scheduled arrival of Northbound trains (bringing people to Garrison from New York City).  That is approximately on the quarter hour.

Random Quote:

“The rolls of West Point bear the names of those that are synonymous with valor, with leadership and military genius, citizens who have served the Nation in peace, as in war, skillfully and devotedly. The legacy that each received from West Point was offered in the service of their fellow Americans.”

General John W. Vessey, Jr.
U.S. Army Commanding, Founders Day 1978
