Whitehouse, 104 years old, is the oldest living graduate of West Point. Whitehouse entered the U.S. Military Academy at West Point in 1923 through the Virginia National Guard, unlike most cadets, who are appointed by recommendation from a congressman or senator. He graduated four years later and left the military in 1929, working for the next decade or so at automotive dealerships for the Packard Motor Car Co. in New York at Schenectady, Buffalo and Albany.
