Prospective-Net
is an email listserv for all prospective candidates to the United States
Military Academy at West Point and their parents. Members of this listserv
have an opportunity to ask questions and share information about all aspects
of the West Point application and admission process.
A listserv is an email program for communicating with other people subscribed to the same list.When you submit a message to the "list", your message is relayed to all those on the listserv.You will receive messages from other participants via email. Members may also email the list moderators privately.
This particular listserv's topics of discussion will take parents and applicants
from the early stages of considering an application and opening a file
through seeking nominations, acceptance, preparation, and finally Reception
Day (R Day).
Our membership includes Field Force Representatives/Military
Academy Liaison Officers as well as parents of cadets who have been through
the process in recent years. Both will provide timely information for
you.
This list does not originate
from the Department of Admissions at West Point and does not interfere
with or take the place of the admissions process. It is a parent-sponsored
list with the intent to provide a forum for you to exchange information.

Subscribers must make
their own individual requests for subscription.

Parent Clubs may not subscribe
members.
- Individuals may be contacted by the moderator
to verify subscription prior to subscribing the member.

Subscribers will receive
an email notficiation when subscription has been processed. Our moderators
are volunteeers, subscriptions are done as soon as possible.
How
to Join Prospective Net

Indicate
how your subscription should be treated.
Normal = when a member posts a message to
the list, all members of the list receive the message to
their subscribed email address
Digest = messages to the list are batched and sent
to digest subscribers in one message. Digest subscribers do not
receive the messages at the moment they are sent, but rather on
a delayed interval once a certain number have been posted. When
a list is very active, some members prefer this option, realizing
they will receive the messages later than the "Normal"
subscribers. Digest is not the best option for Prospective Net members during most of the year.
Remove
Me = more information about unsubscribing can be found
in the welcome email message. Members may unsubscribe at any time.
Indicate your affiliation. Check whichever is appropriate.
Graduate = USMA Graduate if applicable to the parent. Service
Academy grads please include your Academy and class year in the
comments block.
Parent = of a prospective candidate
Family = not applicable for this list, please do not
select this option
Other = select this option if you are the candidate. Please add
a note in the comment block (see below). Only select "Other"
if you are the candidate.
Your Email: required
Last Name: required
First Name: required. Both parents names may be
listed (Bob & Jane).
Middle Name: optional
Year Group: required. This is the prospective USMA
graduating year for the candidate. For example, rising high school seniors are prospective USMA Class of 2014, high school juniors 2015, etc.
Cullum: not applicable for this list, please do
not select this option
Cadet Co: not applicable for this list, please
do not select this option
Comment: If you are the candidate and checked the
"Other" block, please put "I am a candidate."
in this block. Without the note, requests with "Other"
will be delayed to determine the correct membership status.
