A: Cadets will be able to meet with family any time they do not have conflicting duty. Q: How far off post can he/she travel? A: Cadets may exercise Walking Privileges within the geographic limits of: main post limits; Bear Mountain traffic circle when on foot; grounds of Bear Mountain Hotel to include all state park facilities when traveling by vehicle; the Hudson River and the West side of Rt. 9W. The uniform for walking privileges is Dress Gray name tag. Cadets may take Off Post Privileges (OPP) provided they are authorized and accompanied by parents, grandparents, guardians, or other adult family members (18 or older). Cadets must remain within a 75 mile radius of West Point which includes New York City. Cadets are authorized wear of appropriate civilian clothing while on OPPs. Cadets must be signed out for Walking Privileges a nd Off Post Privileges. Q: What time must he/she return to West Point? A: Cadets must be back ½ hour prior to Taps every night. Q: What meals are mandatory Friday through Monday? A: Breakfast, Friday, 8 October Banquet, Saturday, 9 October Q: What type of clothing should we bring? A: The weather at West Point is cool in October. A sweater or light jacket would be appropriate. The Hop is a formal event (business suit/cocktail dress). Q: How do we get tickets for the Football Game? A: Cadets may purchase tickets for you or you may call and order the tickets through the ticket office (914-446-4996) and pick them up when you arrive. Q: Are tickets required for tours of the Superintendent’s Quarters? A: No, tours will be conducted on a first come, first serve basis. Q: Do we need tickets for the Banquet? A: Your cadet will reserve and pay for his guests prior to the event, no tickets will be needed. Q: Where can we get a meal/snack on West Point while visiting? A: There will be food available at the Cadet Restaurant (Ike Hall), Grant Hall (Bldg 602), and the West Point Club (Bldg 603), as well as local restaurants in Highland Falls. Ladies - Long or short formal dress. Informal Military - Army blue, white or green uniforms with four-in-hand tie. Civilian Men - Business suit or coat and tie. Ladies - Afternoon dress or suit.
