REPORT TO THE CADET IN THE RED SASH !!

On Reception day, your new cadet will learn many new and wonderful things. To assist in the learning process, your new cadet will report to the cadet in the red sash. This page will be the plebe parents' cadet in the red sash! Always report here BEFORE making a post to any of the West Point Parents Nets EXCEPT for Plebe-Net. Plebe Net is your safe place for questions. This keeps the number of repeated questions down on the other lists, which is appreciated by those who do not appreciate full boxes, and prevent repeated questions.

Plebe parents who vilolate the rule above about posts to all but Plebe-Net, may receive a 'slug' from the upper-class parents for the error.

What is a slug?
Slug - A special punishment for a serious offense. Results in loss of privileges, special fatigue duty, confinement to room during off duty hours,and may result in walking punishment tours.

This site will also help your NEW CADET (that is the term used until Acceptance day for your cadet) learn some of the important phrases and terms necessary to make Cadet Basic Training (CBT) just a tiny bit easier. Well, easier for mom and Dad at least!!

There are only four proper responses to be uttered by any New Cadet. Mom and Dad, you might like to try these out at home just to give your New Cadet some practice. They will love you for it !

The Fourth Class Year consists of six weeks of Cadet Basic Training, informally known as Beast Barracks. This training orients new cadets and introduces them to general military instruction including helicopter operations and road marches.
