RECEPTION DAY - "THINGS THAT HELPED ME"
The upperclassmen will ask you if you need to go to the Latrine (rest room)
many times during the day. GO! Even if you don't have to use the toilet, go
to the rest room. This will give you a few minutes to get away from all of
the yelling and confusion. Go in, wash your face, sit down a minute, close
your eyes, tell yourself it isn't that bad. Beleive me, the break will feel
good :-)
When reporting on R-day pack
all of the things you are going to keep with you in gallon sized zip
lock bags, it makes sure you don't miss something you want to keep with
you (like your journal book) and when you go to the field you put
your socks etc. in to keep dry. I can attest dry socks
in the field are great to have
