Conference Speakers


Sharon Estill Taylor  presented her work titled, "Finding My Phantom Father"

 


Braden Dellinger, grandson of Nick and Darlene Mott, assists Sharon in distributing small,
quilted purple hearts which she had brought for each AWON member.

 


Brigadier General John W. Nicholson U.S.A. (Ret.) Secretary, American Battle Monuments Commission
spoke caringly about our fathers who are buried overseas.

 


Everyone's favorite psychiatrist, Dr. Vamik Volkan, talked about Creating Memories
and Generational Continuity to Heal.

 


Four orphan stories, were movingly presented by:  Lois Klein, Susan Jane Mayer,
Chickie Shields Berry and Barry Barr Finch.  The moderator was Pat Albani. 

 


Dr. Robert Mann of JPAC presented his always interesting forensic pathology cases.

 


Stephen Watson, Vice President and COO of the National WWII Museum in New Orleans
discussed the museum's expansion and educational plans.

Additional speakers included AWON Member Susan Johnson Hadler Ph.D,
who presented "Finding Our Fathers, Healing Ourselves." – and

AWON Member, Nick Etcheverry, Ed.D., who presented "Healing the Wounded Child."
