Memorial Day 2010 at Henri-Chapelle

Some 22 AWON families visiting both Henri-Chapelle American and Ardennes American
came together for a visit to the Provincial Palace for several welcoming speeches.

Visitors arrive to see these four flags: the flag of Walloonia, of Belgium,
of the United States, and of the Province of Liege.

The first of the Ardennes and Henri-Chapelle families arrive at the palace.

Régine translates the speech, sight unseen, given in French by Mrs. Myriam Abad-Perick,
President of the Provincial Council.

Joe Lippi addresses the gathering in memory
of his Father, PVT Joseph Thomas Lippi.

Art Mahler remembers his service and the service of others during WWII.

Gail Eisenhauer, Stateside Coordinator for Ardennes American
shares a moment with Joe Lippi in the courtyard of the palace.

In Their Memory

Special thanks to Régine Achten (AWON "Ambassador") – not only for these and many of
the other pictures here, but for translating the various speeches at the assembled gathering.
