My Father, Joseph F. Peters, MD, served on Bataan in the 12th Medical Batallion (PS). On 25 January 1942 he was exec officer and coordinated a quick withdrawal of all personnel from the Balanga church (being used as a hospital) when it was bombed.
He walked the Death March and was interred in Camp O'Donnell, Cabanatuan #1, and Bilibid. He did come home, continued to practice medicine, and died in Feb. 1980. A very dear friend of his throughout the ordeal was Fr. Albert Talbot.
My mother, infant brother and I were evacuated from Manila in May 1941 -- we had come to PI and Fort McKinley in 1939. Any help you can give me will be appreciated.
Sincerely,
Mary Peters Wood
