My uncle was

dob: June 24, 1923
from Pampa, Texas
enlisted: Oklahoma City 31 July 1940
Henderson to Philippines left San Diego April 1941
Co "A" 1st Separate Marine Bn, Cavite P.I. 13 May 41
Co "D" 29 May 41 Co "C" 1 June 41 Co "B" 7 Oct 41
Joined Air Warning Platoon in late November 1941 was with the unit until February or March 1942 when he was transferred to Corregidor to recover from a leg wound.
According
to my uncle's military records, a letter from Lieutenant Colonel Curtis
T. Beecher to my grandmother dated Nov 8, 1945, Major Max Clark
informed the colonel that my uncle was "killed during the landing
attack on Corregidor but he could not remember the circumstances."
I am trying to find out if anyone knew him on Corregidor.
His CO in Company B was Lt. Hogaboom. Hogaboom commanded
Company P on Corregidor that had heavy casualties during the counterattack on the morning of 6 May 1942.
Possible my uncle was with Co "P" when
he was killed. My uncle was
KIA on 6 May 1942.
Thank you,
James R. Tout
