"My uncle, Pvt 1st class-Army, Dominique Poirier was in the Death March of Bataan.   He was enlisted with the Medical Corps and was at the Sternberg General Hospital there.   He also served Mass with Rev Father Talbot.

I believe my uncle survived the Oryoku Maru, prison ship, that was sunk off Olongapo, Luzon on December 15, 1944.   His Mother, Mrs. Julie Poirier, received information of his death upon reaching Fukuoka, Japan.   She was told he died March 4th, 1945.
