    I believe my uncle survived the Oryoku Maru, prison ship, that was sunk off Olongapo, Luzon on December 15, 1944.   His Mother, Mrs. Julie Poirier, received information of his death upon reaching Fukuoka, Japan.   She was told he died March 4th, 1945.
