My father, Peter W. Hansen, was a civilian carpenter on Wake Is, was captured and sent to Sasabo to build a dam with other civilian POW's from Wake Island.   He was then transferred to Fukuoka Camp #1 and died on March 21, 1945.

I'm looking for anyone who remembers him.   I have been in close contact with the Survivors of Wake Island but only one man remembered him but has not been able to tell me anything about my father.   Two others who were close to my father died within 2 years of their return.

Dad was married to Bernice and had 3 children.   Harriet, John (Jackie) and Mary-Anne.   Mother is still living at age 98 and in good health but her memory has faded and is very hard of hearing.

If there is anyone out there that remembers Peter W. Hansen, I would be grateful to hear from them.
