My uncle, Lt. Robert D. Downes, was a communications officer with the 28th
Bombardment Squadron stationed at Clark Field. He arrived in November
of 1941. We know he made it through the Death March, but he was killed
when his prison ship was sunk by the USS Paddle on 9/7/44.
I'm trying to find someone who may have know him or about him while in
captivity. Any information would be appreciated.
Thanks!!!
