I am also known as Charles B. DeCuir.   During WWII, I lived with my family in the Philippines, arriving on the US Grant, June 1940 and departing October 1940 to return to the States.

My father, M/Sgt. Charles B. Causey was stationed at Nichol Air Field, Hq & Hq Sq 20th Air Base Group.   Best I remember - he was an Aircraft Mechanic.   As I remember playing on the airplanes that he worked on.   Or he could have been a Flight Line Chief.   He was a prisoner of the Japanese from sometime in early 42, at different prison camps, one was a Number 1 camp, where I received a post card from him.   He was on the Bataan Death March.   In October 1944 he boarded the Arisan Maru, and was listed on the Roster of the Arisan Maru.   The Arisan went down 24 October 1944 with my Father and many others.

One good friend of my Father was M/SGT Jessie Hucks, not only from their young days in Conway, S.C. but in one of the prison camps.   My Father is also listed in the American Battle Monuments Commission, World War II Honor Roll.   Sad to say the only Medals that were sent to me were the Purple Heart;  Good Conduct Medal;  WWII Victory Medal and Honorable Service Lapel Button WWII.   No Flag, or other medals pertaining to the Philippines Defense, National Defense, or important medals that were given to General MacArthur and his group.

I would appreciate hearing from anyone who knew my father.
