Arthur J. Locke's Biographical Sketch


    After 5 yrs Infantry, transferred to Air Corps, arrived Manila 17 Oct 39. Stationed Nichols Fld with 20th AB Squadron, went up to Clark after FEASC was brought into being 15 Nov 41. 2nd Provisional Infantry Battalion on Bataan, at battle of the Points.

    Made the death march and camp O'Donnell, then to Bilibid Prison. Left Manila 13 Oct 42 on the "Ryukyu Maru" with detail of 50 POWs. Arrived at Kobe, Japan where I remained for the rest of the war working on the docks and railway. Stayed in service until l96l when I retired in grade of Capt. Am still working in local library.
