Gary Barker's tribute to Floyd J. Bull

June 2005

My name is Gary Barker and I just wanted to share some information regarding my Aunt and Uncle - Wilma Ticer Bull and former POW Floyd J. Bull - always known to me as “Uncle Johnny.”  As an Army infantryman, I was wounded in Viet Nam in 1967 and spent 20 months in various military hospitals.  Most of my surgeries were performed at the Ft. Ord Army Hospital in Monterey, CA.  During that time, Aunt Wilma and Uncle Johnny were living in Fairfield, CA (Johnny had remained in the military after WWII and was stationed at Travis AFB) and they would often make the 4-hr drive (one way) to see me and cheer me up - especially after an operation.  I can’t begin to express my love and gratitude for my two guardian angels - Aunt Wilma and Uncle Johnny.

  Best regards,

      Gary Barker
